Vari i temi trattati nel corso del confronto operativo sulla sanità ospitato nella sala convegni dell’ex convento del Carmine a cui hanno preso parte il sindaco Angelo Balsamo ed altri componenti della Giunta, rappresentanti del Consiglio comunale e il Commissario Straordinario dell’Azienda Sanitaria provinciale di Agrigento, Salvatore Messina il quale ha toccato vari aspetti che riguardano la sanità, primo fra tutti l’eventuale potenziamento del nosocomio licatese. Il commissario straordinario dell’Asp ha parlato anche della questione legata alla sicurezza all’interno del San Giacomo d’Altopasso soprattutto alla luce degli ultimi episodi di violenza registrati all’interno del reparto di Pronto Soccorso. Al termine del convegno si è espresso anche il sindaco Balsamo che ha parlato di “una discussione su punti importanti e delicati. Nel dottor Messina abbiamo sempre avuto un interlocutore sensibile a cui abbiamo chiesto e continueremo a chiedere il miglioramento dei vari reparti e di tutta la struttura ospedaliera di Contrada Cannavecchia”.
