Assumendo i poteri della Giunta Municipale, il Commissario Straordinario, Dario Cartabellotta, ha adottato il provvedimento con il quale, in esecuzione di quanto precedentemente deliberato sia dall’esecutivo che dal Consiglio comunale, ha nominato il difensore che rappresenterà il Comune di Licata nel ricorso al Tar del Lazio contro il progetto di trivellazione denominato “Off-shore Ibleo”. Il legale designato è l’avvocato Valentina Stefutti del foro di Roma, esperta in diritto ambientale, già incaricata da Greenpeace. Come si ricorderà, si tratta di un progetto presentato dall’Eni Spa per l’estrazione di idrocarburi al largo della costa di Licata, e sul quale il Ministero dell’Ambiente ha concluso la procedura di Valutazione di Impatto Ambientale (VIA). E’ noto che sull’argomento, prima la Giunta Municipale, con deliberazione e successivamente il Consiglio comunale, hanno aderito alle iniziative avviate da Greenpeace ed al quale partecipano anche l’Anci Sicilia, TCI, l’Ente Regionale del Turismo Siciliano, WWF, AGCI Agrital Sicilia, Lega Coop Sicilia, Italia Nostra i Comuni di Ragusa, Scicli, Santa Croce Camarina e altri.
