Gela. Via Cocchiara a Gela è diventata teatro di un efferato omicidio. La pensionata gelese Iolanda Di Natale di 73 anni è stata uccisa in modo barbaro dal figlio adottivo Fabio Greco di 38 anni. L’assassinio si è verificato nella notte, poco prima delle 2. C’è anche un ferito. E’ un brigadiere dei Carabinieri del Reparto Territoriale di Gela, il cinquantaduenne Giuseppe Emmanuello, da 33 anni in servizio nell’Arma e che in passato ha lavorato anche a Licata. E’ tuttora ricoverato nel reparto di chirurgia dell’ospedale Vittorio Emanuele: ne avrà per una settimana. Il militare è stato colto di sorpresa dall’omicida che si era barricato in casa, dopo avere ucciso la madre. L’operaio, adesso rinchiuso nel carcere di Caltagirone a disposizione dell’autorità giudiziaria, dovrà rispondere di omicidio e tentato omicidio. Secondo quanto ricostruito dagli inquirenti, l’omicidio sarebbe scaturito per motivi economici ma nulla può giustificare l’efferatezza del delitto.
