Del tutto inusuale e inaspettato il salvataggio cui ha fatto fronte l’equipaggio della Motovedetta SAR della Guardia Costiera di Licata questa mattina. Gli uomini della CP 860 della Capitaneria di Licata, infatti, si trovavano intenti in una normale operazione di pattugliamento lungo le banchine della banchina commerciale del porto licatese quando, poco lontano, hanno notato precipitare in acqua un cane, un bel cucciolone randagio molto simile ad un Pitbull. Il grosso cane nero stava giocando e correndo con un altro randagio a quattro zampe quando all’improvviso è scivolato in mare. Il Comandante della vedetta CP 860, il Maresciallo Guccione assieme al suo equipaggio, i Sottocapi Fiume e Butera, si trovavano nei pressi dell’ormeggio della loro unità quando la loro attenzione è caduta su uno dei due cani che, quasi volendo chiedere aiuto, si agitava a bordo banchina abbaiando. Immediatamente recatisi sul posto i militari hanno notato il grosso cagnolone che nuotava impaurito in acqua, cercando disperatamente un modo per risalire sulle alte pareti verticali delle banchine. Senza troppo indugiare, con non poche difficoltà, l’equipaggio Search And Rescue è riuscito a recuperare il povero animale e riportarlo a terra. Appena toccato terra, bagnato ed impaurito, lo sventurato randagio non ha esitato a scappare via, ma dopo qualche metro, fermatosi un istante, ha guardato i propri soccorritori, bagnati e felici, quasi, forse, volendoli ringraziare.
