Continua a mietere successi il settore giovanile della Cestistica Licata. Dopo la brillanteaffermazione nella fase provinciale del“Join The Game” con le categorie under 14 maschile e femminile delle settimane scorse (la fase regionale si è disputata il 7 aprile a Ragusa e anche qui i giovani licatesi hanno ben figurato), arrivano altri due importanti successi nelle categorie under 17 ed Esordienti. L’under 17, guidata da Peppe Lombardo, ha vinto il proprio girone battendo in casa la Vigor Santa Croce Camerina con il punteggio di 89 – 66, nella prima gara di qualificazione due. Adesso, quando manca una sola partita alla fine e avendo quattro punti di vantaggio sulla seconda classificata è matematicamente qualificata alla fase successiva, dove affronterà, entro il 30 aprile, la vincente del girone di Siracusa in uno spareggio in campo neutro che deciderà chi verrà ammessa alla “finalfour” regionale che si disputerà il 13 e 14 maggio. Nella gara contro la Vigor miglior realizzatore dell’incontro è stato Antonino Lombardo con 26 punti, seguito da Luca Consagra (23), Luca Lanzerotti (19), Devid Decaro (11), Alessandro Lombardo (8) e Antonino Di Rosa (2). Nella Categoria Esordienti (2001/2002), i giovani cestisti gialloblu guidati da Peppe Lanzerotti, con l’ultima gara vinta con il Basket Ribera, chiudono il girone provinciale al primo posto a punteggio pieno e si qualificano pertanto alla fase regionale.
