Dal Consiglio comunale di giovedì sera sono emersi due dati: il primo è che l’opposizione è unita nel chiedere le dimissioni del sindaco (cosa in verità sostenuta fin dal primo momento), il secondo è che la maggioranza da qui a breve rischia di perdere i pezzi. Il gruppo NuovoCentroDestra, composto dai consiglieri Giarratana, Urso e Moscato, ha infatti annunciato nell’intervento del proprio capogruppo che in caso di rinvio a giudizio del sindaco o di giudizio immediato, il NuovoCentroDestra uscirebbe dalla maggioranza. Questo fronte, nelle ultime ore ha però subito una defezione. Aurelia Urso, vicepresidente del civico consesso, ha infatti preso le distanze dalle parole di Giarratana ritenendo di dover ponderare al meglio ogni eventuale decisione da prendere in futuro. Un’ulteriore scrematura va fatta con Alessia Caico e Stefano De Caro che nelle ultime ore hanno ufficializzato la loro adesione al Megafono. I due, durante il consiglio comunale, hanno dato lettura di un documento nel quale si dichiarano indipendenti e valuteranno di volta in volta come votare gli atti che verranno proposti nel civico consesso. Togliendo anche questi due consiglieri, il numero scenderebbe pertanto a quattordici rappresentanti e non ci sarebbe più la maggioranza numerica.
