Giovedì 23 ottobre alle ore 17,30, Licata riceverà la visita del Sindaco di Bait Sour (Palestina), Hani Abdalmasih. I due comuni (Licata e Bait Sour), assieme a quelli di Canicattì e Umm Qais (la vecchia Antiochia che sorge in Giordania), sono uniti dal Patto di gemellaggio scaturito dall’adesione al “Progetto Archeomed”, il cui obiettivo è quello di abbattere le barriere tra i Popoli, migliorare le condizioni di vita e di occupazione, mediante l’incremento del turismo, del commercio e della concorrenza pacifica. La dichiarazione di intesa tra i Comuni interessati, in nome e per conto del Comune di Licata è stata definitivamente approvata con determinazione del Commissario Straordinario Dario Cartabellotta, dopo la fase preliminare di adesione avviata dall’ex vice sindaco Angelo Cambiano in nome e per conto dell’amministrazione comunale uscente. A ricevere l’illustre ospite sarà il presidente del Consiglio comunale Saverio Platamone. Nel corso della visita al Palazzo di Città è prevista una conferenza stampa per la presentazione ufficiale dell’illustre ospite e del “Progetto Archeomed”.
